Research shows that everyone is creative
In school, people who write good stories or draw beautiful pictures are considered especially creative. But research shows that all people are creative.
In fact, creativity is one of the most important traits of being human. This is one of the key features that makes us successful as a person and as a species.
Our workshops are not just about being creative – we spend our class time actively leveraging people and doing creative work. In our 25 years of teaching the creativity workshop, we have found that if we move our brains faster than our brains, the barriers to creativity disappear.
The wonderful thing is how easy it is to come up with the right techniques to make them feel that they do not have the creativity to do something very innovative and imaginative.
There is an ideal environment for the education of creativity that includes practice, tactics, surprises, and the practice and strategy of value processes on the product.
If you have doubts about your own creativity, there is scientific research to prove it. American neurologist Alice Flaherty discusses the nervous system of creativity in her book The Midnight Disease:
“A creative idea will simply be defined as both novel and beneficial (or influential) in a particular social setting.”
Flatty says it applies to business, IT, science and math, which we usually think of in the “creative” fields, such as fiction, art or theater.
Our brains and creativity
When we are doing something creatively actually active in our brain? Researchers Xuan Liu and Allen Braun studied this by observing the brain activity of these freestyle rappers.
We find that the parts of the brain that we use to think of ‘business as usual’ are completely shut down when we get creative, and other parts of our mind that we don’t use every day are pretty active.
The medial prefrontal cortex showed improvement in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and increased activity during low activity.
Brown discovered that during creative expression, ‘executive function’ will occur in a back seat and more uncensored processes and de-focus attention.
The creative process allows a child to acquire cognitive skills, scientific methods, skills and hard work, problem solving and the ability to identify symbols, patterns and shapes. The most important aspect of creativity is the process of self-expression. The creative experience evolves the process of coping with children and lets them understand their feelings. The child’s creative activities give teachers and parents a way to learn more about the child’s thoughts or feelings. Creativity also promotes emotional growth in children by providing testing opportunities for new ideas, and new ways of thinking and problem solving. Creative activities help a child recognize and celebrate the unique personality and diversity, and provide a valuable opportunity for each child to personalize the teaching method.

George Land conducted a research study in 1968. What the experiment shows is that non-creative behavior is learned.
The land tested a creativity on children ages 3 to 5. It was the same experiment that he conducted to select NASA scientists and innovative engineers. He was tested the same age at age 10 and again at 15 years old. The results were disappointing.
The 5-year-old’s creativity was 98%, when they reached the age of 10, down 30% and as a 15-year-old their test was only 12%.
When the same test was given to 280,000 adults, creativity was only 2%.
So why not adults as creative as kids?
Rules and regulations kill creativity. Our school systems are usually fantasies, daydreams, and imperfections — all the qualities that make them the key to great revolutionary ideas. Educational systems often teach us not to think differently, but how to follow instructions and obey the status quo.
The world is changing so fast now that just learning a certain skill set and following it won’t distract us too much. Ready for life outside the classroom, students are learning how to be more creative, which includes perception and flexibility in performance.
Schools are beginning to acknowledge the importance of creativity in the classroom. Creativity courses are now provided by academia because it is now common knowledge that only creativity can help students succeed in the 21st century.
Creativity is no longer opposed to English, art, or music in the classroom. Teachers and professors are starting to emphasize creativity in science as well.
Why we need creative educators
An international consultant for education, Sir K. Robinson, was once interviewed by German composer Hans Zimmer. Zimmer was apparently a helpless child at school. He was thrown out of 8 schools.
When his parents drove him to ninth, the headmaster took Zimmer out to get involved in teaching by talking to him. The head teacher organized him to study music because Zimmer said he liked the music. This led to his successful career.
Not only Zimmer’s music, the teacher and his teaching methods are also creative. This is again proof of the importance of educational creativity. Zimmer was lucky as the head teacher was creative in his teaching method.
But in today’s heavily synchronized learning environment, there is little scope for creativity.
During recent exams, students in science and art were given a creative writing assignment. To everyone’s surprise, scientists performed far better than the arts industry. Experiments have shown the value of creative thinking for scientists in the workplace. What makes their organizations excel is the creativity and innovation of these scientists.
In order to take care of well-disciplined, well-balanced students, their creativity in all forms should be adopted by teachers. This approach can only be cultivated by the right thinkers for future generations.

Develop creativity through play
The basic elements of the creative process are the play involved. It explores new experiments, possibilities, and unlimited imaginations and realities. The game is crucial for developing a healthy personality.
After a good session of play a child is calm and satisfied. When playing, the child often suffers profoundly. When the environment is too harsh, the child feels frustrated and is tortured. Such a child may begin to torture others.
